9-22 Mitel Networks 5700 VFA Administrator’s Guide
Adding a Neighbor MCU to the Local 5700 VFA
This method may be used for providing 5700 VFA nodes with MCU services that
are registered in a neighboring zone. Listing an MCU and its services under its
neighboring zone in the Main View offers the following advantages:
q Users do not need to obtain and add zone prefixes when they dial.
q The listed MCU services may be placed in MCU Service Permission Groups in
the local 5700 VFA.
É To add a neighbor MCU to the local 5700 VFA
1. Right-click the neighboring zone, point to Add Node to Zone, and then
click Add MCU. The New MCU wizard appears.
2. Edit the MCU’s properties according to its configuration and your
multipoint conferencing specifications (for details, see “Setting MCU
Properties” on page 8-3). Click OK to finish.
3. After adding the MCU, right-click the MCU and then click Add Service.
The New MCU Service wizard appears.
4. Edit the MCU service’s properties according to its configuration and your
multipoint conferencing specifications (for details, see “MCU Services”
on page 8-7). Click OK to finish.
5. To add additional services, repeat step 4 as many times as necessary.
The neighbor MCU and its services are now listed in the local 5700 VFA and may
be dialed by 5700 VFA nodes simply by dialing the MCU’s directory number. The
MCU’s services are now available for inclusion in MCU Service Permission
Groups (see “MCU Service Permission Groups” on page 8-14).
